2013 - Present

"TODAY, FEFA HAS 50 CONSULTANTS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES WHO ALL COME FROM VERY UNIQUE, BUT IMPRESSIVE BACKGROUNDS"

Federal Employees First Alliance (“FEFA”) was founded in early 2013 by Andrew Stringer. Andrew graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida with a Masters in Finance. Passing up opportunities as an Investment Banker and Financial Analyst, Andrew wanted to start and develop something on his own. With a family of federal employees including his father Dirk, who was CO of USCG HQ in Washington D.C., he learned the lack of both HR and financial support provided to federal employees across all agencies. Thus, FEFA came to be.

For over a year, Andrew ran the company as a one-man operation with no assistance and no intention to grow. All of this initial business stayed local in the southern half of Florida, and was done solely by word of mouth referrals. Andrew combined his extensive financial knowledge with excellent service to his clients to build quite an extensive network. All of this stemmed from his grassroots approach of handing water bottles out to postal carriers on their routes, and explaining how he could help them prepare for retirement.

Although he had no intentions to grow, Andrew realized what he had built in a year would only get bigger. In 2014, Andrew was introduced to James Tuccori who was finishing up his degree in Finance at Miami University (OH). After a few months, Andrew was able to get James to turn down an offer to work at a California based hedge fund. Upon his graduation, James moved back to his hometown of Chicago where the construction of FEFA began.

A three-month college recruiting tour that visited over a dozen campuses only resulted in one hire: Lucas Wapinsky out of Xavier University. Realizing this wasn’t the best route to growth, Andrew and James turned to hiring within the industry and found established experts in Sheri Messer, Joe McGee, Rick Viader, and Donald Fletcher. At this point, FEFA finally had a foundation on which it could truly expand.

Today, FEFA has 50 consultants across the United States who all come from very unique, but impressive backgrounds (e.g., former investment bankers, hedge fund analysts, traders, mergers & acquisition analysts etc.). FEFA continues to grow at an unrivaled rate by hiring people looking to learn the federal retirement systems and share this knowledge with federal employees everywhere. Our team is our number one strength. We have experts from all backgrounds and educations, but our ability to strategize and work together has made it possible to maintain such a high level of service to our clients. Operating by word of mouth is how we protect the name we have built to be recognized by all federal employees. When you work with one of us, you work with all of us. When it comes to our clients no one is put before them, hence our motto, "We Put Federal Employees First."
